Part 2: Julafton December 24

 

December 24th is the day of celebration in Sweden.  Our day began at 9am at Martin and Mia's house for Risgrynsgröt, a rice pudding

30 we headed over to Camilla and Anders house.  We shared a lovely meal with Anders side of the family.

Piling into the van, we all headed up to Connie and Karin's house for more food and company.

Tomten visited us at Anders and Camilla's house AND at Karin and Connie's house.

Jennie (she was two when I lived with the Gustafsons, Karin and Stina, Connie's momma.

The adults of the family went to a candle lit midnight mass in the church in the center of Arvika.  It was a peaceful way to end a day of good food and family, Swedish and Minnesotan.
